Advance Passenger Information (API): What is it, what do you need to provide and how do you provide it.

What is Advance Passenger Information (API)?

Advance Passenger Information (API) is a requirement from the UK Home Office for all UK ports and airports to collect specific passport or identity card details from every individual entering or leaving the country.

To ensure a smooth journey through our terminals, it is mandatory to provide your passenger information prior to travel using our AdvanceD Passenger Information (API) system. Failure to supply your passenger information in advance will result in being stopped at check-in, where you will be required to update your booking with the necessary AdvanceD Passenger Information (API) details before proceeding.

What information is required?

For each trip, you must supply the following details for yourself and all passengers in your vehicle:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Gender
  • Date of Birth
  • Nationality
  • Document Type (e.g., passport or ID card*)
  • Document Number
  • Issuing Country
  • Expiry Date

*Not all passengers are eligible to travel with an ID card, so please check the specific requirements for your situation before making a booking.

Submitting this information in advance will help streamline your travel experience.
