Driving from Calais to any of the numerous Eurocamps in Holland will take you through glorious scenery. In this guide, we have picked some of the top areas that have Eurocamp sites.
Some are close to the city of Amsterdam, for those who like a city break as much as the great outdoors, others are a shorter distance from Calais, if you don’t wish to travel as far.

Eurocamp sites near Amsterdam
Koningshof Campsite, Rijnsburg
This parc is small but perfectly formed, with a pool complex and lake (well-stocked year-round for fishing enthusiasts). Surrounded by countryside, be sure to make use of the on-site bike hire. In spring, the world famous Keukenhof festival takes place in nearby Lisse, a flower festival that has to be seen to be believed. Amsterdam is less than an hours’ drive from the campsite via the A44 and A4, so you can easily take a trip into the exciting city too. From Calais it’s just under 4 hours’ drive to the campsite via the E40.
Duinrell Campsite, Wassenaar
You can reach Duinrell from Calais in just under 4 hours via the E40, taking you through Ghent and close to Rotterdam en route. At Duinrell Eurocamp there’s a lot to enjoy, including a free theme park. The parc is surrounded by tranquil forest for peaceful walks and Wassenaar beach is only 4km away. Amsterdam is just 40 minutes’ drive away for a taste of the city.

Roompot Beach Resort, Kamperland
From Calais, take the E40 to Kamperland in just 2 hours and 45 minutes. The Eurocamp is right on Roompot beach, one of the most modern (and prettiest) in the Netherlands. There are also covered pools on-site if you prefer, or why not relax at the spa? Nearby historic towns of Veere and Zierikee are perfect for day trips and to see more of the surrounding area.

Beekse Bergen Campsite, Hilvarenbeek
Just 3 hours from Calais lies this campsite that features a unique safari park, where you can see lions and zebras amongst other wildlife. As well as wonderful camping facilities, there’s also lakes, canals, and nature trails for lovers of the great outdoors. Nearby town Eindhoven has shops, bars, and restaurants to explore or the city of Breda has a beautiful 15th century church and art museums.
Camping De Schatberg, Sevenum
Camping De Schatberg is in a beautiful part of North Limburg, not far from De Groote Peel, a national park. The camp is arranged around a lake, with an aerial climbing park and laser tag course onsite too. As well as southern Holland, you’re also just 17 km from the German border and within an hour's drive of Düsseldorf. If you have a love of history, you can drive to the Dutch town of Arnhem, set on the banks of the River Rhine. This town is best known as the setting of one of most famous battles of WWII.
