Our shuttles travel at a top speed of 140 kmph in the tunnel. The tunnel is 50 kilometres long and with the distance to enter and exit the tunnels from the platforms, the total distance travelled is 58.44 kilometres per crossing. The planned crossing time is 35 minutes from platform to platform. The time it takes is the same whether travelling from Folkestone to Calais or Calais to Folkestone. Between September 2023 and August 2024, there were 28,900  crossings and an average crossing time of 34 minutes.
